Sportsaholix #100

We talk with everyone from Leslie Jones to Al Madrigal, it's a who's who's of who on this week episode.  I had a good time going back and listening to some of the old episodes, we really do still sound the same.

Sportsaholix #99 w/ Jason Lawhead & Dr. Larry Foley

It all starts back up again with pitchers and catchers reporting this week. No better way to transition into the new baseball season than to talk with the Director/Producer of The First Boys of Spring, Dr. Larry Foley. The movie covers the origins of Spring Training and how Arkansas became the place to get ready for the long season to come. Comedian/3-point specialist Jason Lawhead comes into the studio to talk Ohio High School hoops, Cleveland sports curses and when to stop taking charges in rec-league games.

Meet the guy white kids in the 90's wanted to be.

This weeks episode of Sportsaholix was one of my all-time favorites to produce.  I got to interview one of the  "great white hopes" of the 90's and early oughts, Teddy Dupay. As a slow youthful caucasion he gave me hope that with enough practice anything could be possible. You may have never heard of the man but man, just watch the video posted below, absolutely ridiculous skills.  Dropped 70 points in a High School game, made 5,000 three pointers in 24 hours, played professionally in countries most of us have only seen on episodes on NARCOS, oh and got kicked out of college his senior year at Florida.  The man has lived an incredible life and we only scratch the surface of his travels and basketball experiences.

Royals Fever... no cure.

I'm having trouble sleeping, wasting hours digging around the internet and we're still two weeks away from Spring Training.  You have to understand that for the first time in my life i'm a WORLD CHAMPION.  The ride that was last season was incredible, being thirty one games above .500, Alex Gordon personally remodeling outfield fences at Kauffman and even a Brazilian winning over the hard working hearts of obese Midwesterners.  The season was a rollercoaster ride of that ended with 800,000 Royals fans waiting to thank the team (I survived the rally)  But i'll still have to wait two more months until the strikes and balls actually count and I spend my afternoons and nights making sure Ned isn't doing anything crazy with Joakim  Soria or Christian Colon.
